You bled and died on the cross to save us

And even the surrounding angry mob

Yet they mocked, scorned You

Every time I look up to the cross

Help me to be kind

So other’s unkindness only triggers my kindness

 

Your heart went out to the widow of Nain

Who was mourning his only son’s death

You said to him and he sat up

Help me to sympathize

So other’s broken hearts also break my own heart

 

You were sold out by Your close friend

Who was betraying the Son with a kiss

Yet You still called him “friend”

Help me to forgive

So other’s betrayal only delivers my forgiveness

Help this incomplete child

A little closer to completeness
