Something easy comes for free

The best gift just doesn’t cost a loonie

Yet I will have all the goodness in His store

Although I am so lowly and unworthy

 

Something I could never repay

Our God doesn’t demand His benefit

Although I feel so broken, ashamed and guilty

He still wants my heart so desperately

 

Something that makes me painful

For eternal glory I must die in a way

I will have tempest and storm down the road

But God will be next to me all the way

 

Something that gives me real life

A life with love grace kindness and mercy

I can proudly ask death where your sting is

Since this life is eternal without a finale

 

Lord

Give me a new heart so all my life I can worship you whole-heartedly

For I know this something will be my everything

Although my own hands have nothing in them and are empty
