Did(or didn’t) Trump say about the spy thing during the dinner with the CEOs

Recently a headline about Trump calling almost every Chinese spy in the Chinese community caught my eyes. To my curiosity, I went on to search this topic. I could only find that many websites writing this topic mainly quoted from the two sources , one from Politico by Annie Karni, and the other one from CNN by Jeremy Diamond. It seems like Karni’s version is predominate in the Chinese community. To my understanding after reading the two articles, both journalists did not hear directly what Trump said, and they only quoted one unnamed attendee. Interestingly what Karni and Jeremy wrote about the quote were quite different. That said, whom do you want to believe or even believe at all.
Sometimes I am wondering if the leftists try to find every opportunity to ignite the war between Trump and the People.
