一段时间里，可能会不知不觉地倾向于一类歌曲，发现它们有个共同的特征，即所谓的“逃避现实”（“Escapist ” ）。一位音乐博主这样写道：“逃避的原因既可能是负面的，也可能是正面的，但‘逃避音乐’目的只有一个，就是‘逃避’本身。音乐人以具体的创作，摆脱自身的情绪，而听者借助他们的音乐，实现自我的逃避”。加拿大蒙特利尔音乐人Arnaud Dagenais 直接用” The escapist music “来当作艺名，最近他发行了一首新单曲“Violence”，其实，并不暴力，如他在脸书中，用四个词语描述这首新歌：人性（humanity）, 适应（resilience ）, 意识（consciousness ）和开放思想（open minds）。“逃避音乐”不那么消极、颓废。
把”逃避音乐”归为“Chillwave”不无道理，直译过来就是“寒波”音乐，虽然它更多地侧重于音乐人自身，希望“创造出一种旋律节奏情绪，在迷茫中，寻找心灵慰藉之源”（from Apple Music)，但对听者来说，Chillwave音乐无疑带来了“逃避”可能。
疫情期间，此类音乐大行其道，如Dua Lipa新专辑“Future Nostalgia ”，以及其中值得一提的“We are good” 等的歌曲。最近，韩国歌手Chung Ha发布首张专辑 ‘Querencia’ ，得到音乐评论人的高度推崇：“‘逃避音乐’捕获我们的想象，并让想象空间化做Disco仙境，专辑‘Querencia’ 则更上一层楼，把我们带到另一个天地，用燃爆式的音乐语言冲刷着疫情隔离和封闭期间产生的蓝色郁闷。”这篇评论最后提到专辑中的歌曲“X”，欣赏歌曲，会注意到电脑制作的视频背景有些暴力, 坦克飞机导弹都上了。但歌曲讲述了一个被人背叛之后，如何脱胎换骨的故事，的确，需要一点点“暴力“来塑造自己，变得更加强大。歌曲“以不同以往的方式，表达一种‘自我肯定和自我接受’（self-assurance)，从而升华到一种永恒的境界...。” 如歌词中唱的那样：“旧伤疤如幽灵如影随形/新面貌让痛苦无影无踪” （英译歌词见附录），明示着，尽管这样那样，不尽完美，但唯有“自我肯定和接受”，才是自信的根源。

因此，如何逃避？又回到一个最根本的字：“爱”，爱自己，爱值得爱的人，爱花爱草，爱咖啡…。：-）
