"《雪夜林畔小驻》是现代英语始终公认的短篇杰作。此诗之难能可贵，在于意境含蓄，用语天然，而格律严谨。意境则深入浅出，貌似写景，却别有寓意。佛洛斯特曾为一诗之成，“兴于喜悦，而终于澈悟。”验之此诗，最可印证。……至于格律，用的是“抑扬四步格”（iambic tetrameter），这倒并不稀奇。奇的是韵脚的排列-每段的第一、第二、第四行互押，至于第三行，则于次段执第一、第二、第四行相押，如是互为消长，交错呼应，到了末段又合为一体，四行通押。这样押韵本来也不太难，难在韵脚都落的十分自然，毫无强凑之感。这首诗要译成中文，颇不容易。" --余光中

Whose woods these are I think I know.       a
His house is in the village though;           a
He will not see me stopping here            b
To watch his woods fill up with snow.     a
   
My little horse must think it queer          b
To stop without a farmhouse near          b

He gives his harness bells a shake           c
