  一次去书店的时候看到有一本书很好，就买了回来。但是读的断断续续。这本书很好，主要是告诉人们如何去扩大词汇量。作者是通过小故事讲述后，然后再列上单词，并且把生词逐一的解释一下。这本书的名字叫［NO FEAR VOCABULARY]

  HOW TO TALK ABOUT FAMILY MEMBERS

"  The alarm clock went off at 6:45, the same as it does every weekday. I rolled over and stared at the ceiling for a few moments as the clock kept blaring.

  "Good morning,Lee," the voice crackled, underlining my last name gooily. " I hear it's your birthday."...

  acerbic:(adj):bitter or sharp in tone,taste,or manner

some close synonyms for acerbic are sardonic (adj):disdainfully or ironically mocking, and mordant(adj):sharply sarcastic or bitingly critical.
