Annual Christmas Party
Time flies so fast and the holiday season is coming again. The pandemic is still on. All companies still require every worker to wear a mask. Since the pandemic attacked here, even in one small company (300 workers) there were two worker passed away due to infecting COVID-19. The most companies canceled annual Christmas parties.
In our association, there are different viewpoints about the pandemic. They are going to organize a Christmas party at home. They don’t care about the Covid-19 virus, even though four members had infected the virus. We are not going to attend the party because we think it is not right to get together during the pandemic. We can not change their plan, but we can change ourselves. We can not change how they feel about us and don’t want to try it. Just go the way we think is right. In order to express our respectation, We write a courtesy email to the leader.
“Thanks for the invitation for the Christmas party. We eagerly spend time with the our members. But, this time we are not able to attend the party. We all visited the emergency room after taking Covid-19 vaccine. One had only one shot of COVID-19 vaccine, causing the severe side effects: chills, rashes, pain and shingles. So far the symptoms are still not leaving totally. Another one also had terrible side effects, heart beating irregularly, after taking the two doses of the vaccine. We are not going to take boosters in the near future. Therefore, the best way to stay away from the Covid-19 is to wear masks and keep social distance.”
Yesterday, the leader sent us a very friendly email. “Please know you both miss a great deal. Yesterday, we went to lunch and you both were missed. It was so fun to get to know you as we would talk and eat together in so many places. We all understand why it is difficult for you to not get out in the public. We pray for you for healing and will be thrilled when you can return. WE all miss you both so much! Thanks for letting us know. I want to keep you on the database and keep you informed about all that is happening. You are both loved and missed tremendously!”
