 Chronic constipation

2 or more of the following occurred for at least 12 weeks within the prior 12 months

• Straining in more than 25% of BM;
• Hard stools in more than 25% of BM;
• A feeling of incomplete evacuation in 25% of BM;
• Manual support of defecation in more than 25% of BM;
• Fewer than 3 stools/week.
