    Joe couldn’t see well for seven days. Everything looked blurry and his vision was getting worse every day. The ophthalmologist, Dr.Goodsight, couldn’t find anything wrong with his eyes. He ordered a brain scan and a blood test. Joe was worried when he received a phone call from his doctor the next morning.

   “I have good news and bad news.” The doctor reported.

   “Tell me the bad news.” Joe said.    

   “Well, there is a mass in your brain.”

    Joe felt a little dizzy. “Does that mean I have a brain tumor?”

   “Yes. But here comes the good news. We have a new treatment that has worked well. We are  optimistic that your symptoms are treatable. Can you come to my office for the treatment?”

   “Now?”

   “Whenever is convenient to you. I am here until 5p.m today”.  

   “What do I need to bring with me? Will I stay overnight? Am I able to drive after this?”  

   “Good questions. The answers are ‘No’.  All you have to do is show up at my office!  The treatment takes a few minutes. Then you take another brain scan. You are able to drive after we done.”

   “It sounds simple. See you in 30 minutes!”   Joe couldn’t wait. He didn’t care what the treatment was, he just wanted that mass in his brain to disappear and his vision return to normal. 

   As the doctor promised, Joe’s treatment was quick and “full of l purple light” as he described to his wife Ali when she got home.  He showed Ali the “gift” he got from his doctor, a purple flashlight. 

  “What is that?” Ali looked at the flashlight suspiciously.

  “This is the magic light. Dr.Goodsight turned it on over my head, in a minute, I can see clearer,” Joe was happy. “I have no problem reading now”.  

  The next day Joe was informed that his brain scan report was normal. The mass was gone.
