Lisa Batiashvili is a Georgian violinist who has achieved international acclaim (the country in the Caucasus region, not the state in the United States). She was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, on March 23, 1979, and she started learning how to play the violin when she was four years old.
Batiashvili has been honored with a great number of awards and has collaborated with some of the most prestigious orchestras and conductors from all over the world. Some of these orchestras and conductors include the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She is also a recording artist and has published several CDs, some of which include works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Shostakovich.
Batiashvili is well-known for her expressive and virtuoso playing, as well as her ability to bring out the emotional depth and subtlety of the music that she performs. She has been lauded for her technical prowess, gorgeous tone, and fervent interpretations of both traditional and modern pieces of music.
