Send in the Clowns

　 　　《小夜曲 a little night music》由 Stephen Sondheim 词曲，取材自Ingmar Bergman导演的电影《夏夜微笑 Smiles of a Summer Night》，描述二十世纪初期瑞典一群男女的浪漫爱情，其中的男女主角Desiree 和 Fredrik相互喜欢却不断错过。于1973年2月25日在百老汇舒伯特剧院推出，上演了600场.
　　 　　《Send in the Clowns 小丑进场》是本剧最受欢迎的名曲，这首歌出现于该剧第二幕，女主角Desiree 问男主角Fredrik是否还想被她从有名无实的婚姻中拯救出来，却被Fredrik婉拒了，受伤又带着苦涩的Desiree 落寞的唱出这首歌......自嘲又伤感、发人深省，无论词曲均是上乘之作.
