Small and large motor skills develop separately. Even though they require the same physical foundations, the two skills advance a little bit at a time.

Activities:

-        Give your baby a variety of safe objects to play with. Lile measuring spoons, small balls and small toys.

-        Put an object in her hand and encourage her to drop it

-        Give her a container to drop her treasures into and the take them out
-        Encourage her to give you an object and then be sure to give it back
-        See if she can hold two things in the same hand

Hand release skills:  Three blocks two hands

Old fashioned toys and games strengthened cognitive, motor and language development.

9-12 m

creativity and originality

1.       pretend a banana is a telephone. Say “hello banana, u taste good.”

2.       ask the baby ”would u like to talk to the banana?”

3.       enjoy it together
