林花谢了春红，
太匆匆，
无奈朝来寒雨晚来风。
Flowers in the woods have faded, red everywhere in spring.
All too soon, all in vain,
With all the cold rains in the morning,
And gust of winds in the evening.

胭脂泪，相留醉，几时重？
自是人生长恨水长东！
Rouged tears, drunken partings.
When to see you again, my darling?
Ever so lasting, is the unbearable rue of being,
Just as the waters running east, ever ongoing.
