Traveling alone often makes me feel more solitary than sitting in the darkness of concert hall unaccompanied. Sometimes I was so desperate that I unconsciously had a fantasy I would have run into an affair with a girl, as solitary as me, in an exotic city in some occasions. But this affair never happened in my real life, and I knew that I was expecting it in wrong places. When I visited those cities in Europe with abundant legends and historical stories, their magnificent relics and brilliant museums could make me completely forget my loneliness. When the city lights were on, I always tried to spend my evenings in concerts as long as possible. Sitting, listening, speechlessly, and letting my soul wander in the air with melodies and chords is such an appealing moment that any extra will ruin it. Hilary Hahn is my most favorite artist. Her interpretation of Bach is unprecedented as if she herself is not from the current century, or even not from this world. Every note she played seemed to me was not coming from her bow, but flowing from her heart, so divine, then capturing my soul and leading mine to follow hers, to a dream-like heaven far far away from this world...
Your European journey must be unforgettable with the melodies and chords you listened to with your heart.
