Summer Porch

There is something about couples
who love porch
Perhaps the open air
will ease the admission that
it is OK to flow with time
by staring at the street
instead of staring at each other inside the house
Perhaps the casualness
could swing the stress out of them
I have seen a hot tub on the side porch
which makes it a showplace for affection
not enough to be enclosed
happy enough to share the appearance of happiness
Perhaps those are the perfect windows
of display that we need
outside the doors sometimes
beyond normal concealed matters
of those not so secret after all
