What's thereafter
for you and me
to cherish

A touch of heartbeat
we will always imagine?
A slice of care
we will always want to take?

Or light of a door
we could never imagine
or journey of soul
we could never stop

Not all doors shut in darkness
as if we went  into forever night
not all roads lead to end
as if we became forever dust

Perhaps drift into doorless space
perhaps stand in nightless time
dustless
and endless

But you have to believe
there will be a trace of love
not enough to be noticed in the universe
but just enough to cheer me up
thereafter
