We went to Brakenridge, Colorado to ski in 2007. Brakenridge is a small town in the mountains, about one and half hour from Denver airport. My Colorado friend told me that it's a good skiing resort for beginners. We rented rooms in a ski-in/ski-out facility. The term "ski-in/ski-out" was misleading. You still need to do some walking to the lifts, but it's about 100 yards or less.
While Colorado's dry, powder snow may be one of the best in the World, there were a few drawbacks to ski in Colorado. All the resorts are at least one hour away from the airport. Driving through the mountains in the winter time particularly at night is not that pleasant. Most people developed some reactions to the height to various degrees, especially on the first day. The weather seems to be "unpredictable." You can tell we had a "snow storm" on the slope; but it was just fine the next day.
These pictures were shot with a Canon point-and-shoot camera.

(16) Skiing through such forest was one of the most enjoyable thing to do. No, it's not as dangerous as you would think.
