Terry Fox Run

September 17th, 2010: Today I have special lunch and the Terry Fox Run at my school! My dad droppedme off at school and said good-bye. Now I am going to skip to where special lunch starts because of courseeverybody doesn't want me to write about ordinary school stuff, right? After language arts, math and health we had lunch, which meant special lunch! Oh fine, I will tell you whathappened in health. In health, we watched the Terry Fox movie. What was Terry Fox in the movie was actuallyan actor! Even I knew that because he didn't look like him that much. The movie was just about "Terry Fox"running around Canada with only one good leg. He ran all the way from B.C. to Thunder Bay, Vancouver! (wherehe died) His friend Doug and Bill, and his brother Darrell would always comfort him along the way by driving a van right behind him and gave him a cup of water when he needed it. Okay, back to special lunch. This time, we had Peter's Drive In special lunch. I had a cheeseburger and fries, anddon't forget ketchup to go with it. I was depressed that everyone had like a milkshake or a bottle of water becauseon the ordering sheet (which we got two weeks before) it said that the milk program would still be in effect and I wasin the milk program so I thought "Oh, I don't need two drinks, I can just drink the milk by itself." Unfortunately, the daybefore special lunch, my teacher, Mr. Read said that the milk program would start next week! Well, at least everythingelse I had tasted delicious! That's why you have to be happy with what you have. After the special lunch, we had lunchrecess. I don't want to write about lunch recess because it was just about me playing with my friends. When lunch recess was over, everyone met outside and teachers told students' their groups, their were the fastgroups, medium groups, and the slow groups. (I was in one of the medium group) The fast group would have torun all the 7.0 kilometres without stopping! While the medium group would run and walk, the slow group would walkthe whole time! Finally, we got our groups. I was with three people in my class: Daniel, Jacob, and Brodie, and ourgroup leader was a parent volunteer named Teresa. Teresa explained that she would be our medium group leader.Then Jacob and Daniel interrupted and complained that they were in the fast group, so they asked Mr. Weible, theteacher that organized the groups and he assigned them in a random fast group. After all of the commotion, we saw a confused student that's name was Max. (Brodie's friend) Brodie asked if hewanted to be in our group and he quickly accepted. Finally, we actually started running. Soon, Brodie and Maxstarted to have cramps, I grinned and was thankful that I didn't have a milkshake or a bottle of water or else I would'vehad a cramp also. But it didn't feel like we were in a medium group because we barely had any rests by walking.When we convinced Teresa for us to walk she told us to put our hands on our head and breathe in and out slowly.Finally, we were at the half-way point (3.5 kilometres) and there was the Dehydration Station! Yay! The station hadmany cups of Gatorade, an energy drink. I drank 2 cups of Gatorade instantly. What? I was tired to death and I neededa drink! XD After the refreshments, we ran all the way back to the school. Before we started sprinting, Teresa put some tissueinto Max's ear because he said that there was pressure in his ear when he was jogging. We ran all almost the wholeway non-stop without walking. Along the way, Max would always look at his watch, so Teresa demanded him to paymore attention to not crashing into any obstacles. When we were almost at the school, me and Brodie were so tiredthat we wanted to walk the rest of the way. Max said to us, "Hey c'mon start running again... You know what? I'm noteven tired!" Then, he dashed back to the school faster than a cheetah. A few seconds later, some Grade 4 girlscaught up to us. Me and Brodie were determined to run all the way back to the school without stopping becausewe didn't want to be beaten by girls! Me and Brodie had a race with the girls and we totally won! Yippee! I wentin the school, grabbed my water bottle, and drank the whole thing. Then, I played at the playground until myparents came. By: 龙的传人
