Today we were going to Glenmore park to have a pot luck with lots of other friends. Several minutes before we wereabout to leave, my friend Jack called me. He said that he wouldn't be able to come to Glenmore with us because hismother had a headache. He also talked about some sorta strange smoke coming from the campfires in B.C. Jacksaid that he smelt it on his way to school yesterday and he recommended that my brother shouldn't go becausehe heard a park ranger on the news say that people with asthma or allergies should stay inside. I said that my momwould bring his puffer, so it would be fine. He said that it's fine with him and we both turned off the telephone. Soon,my mom came back from buying stuff from Walmart and I talked to her about the news of what Jack told me. Then,we went in the car and waited for Cynthia and Michael's mother to come so we could follow them there. We waiteda pretty long time for them to come. Finally, they were here and we followed them all the way to Glenmore park.Along the way, I heard on the forecast that the smoke from the campfires of British Columbia was clearly visibleand it would improve (increase) at noon and in the afternoon. Jack was right!!! This reminded my mother thatshe forgot to bring the puffer! She said to my little brother that if he wasn't feeling good that we would go backhome immediately. (At least it wasn't like the dangerous smoke from a volcano in Iceland that reached all theway to North Europe.) When we were there, I could even smell the smoke and boy, it smelt terrible! Wewalked to the picnic site and saw many friends that were from my school. We also befriended a 9 year old boynamed Cody. 30 minutes later, the smoke suddenly disappeared and we ate a yummy, delicious lunch! By: 龙的传人
