Hiking at the Rocky Mountains

August 8th: Today I went to the Rocky Mountains of Alberta to hike! I went with my friend Jack, and my mom's friend Maggie. It took a long time to get there. But I was playing the D.S. we had while we were driving there! When we were there, we started hiking. We kept hiking until we reached a bench. We sat on it, I was tired already! We had a snack. I ate some fruit. Then we started hiking again. We came to a creek with a lot of rocks, we were between two cliffs too! We hiked for a long time. We came across a lot of rocky bridges. I tripped and fell a lot becase some of the rocks were flat and pointy. All the water from the creek came from waterfalls. The air was warm. We got wet too when we stepped into the creek! When we came across a place, there were two paths to go. On the right path there was a waterfall blocking the way. So we went down the left path. When we were finally out of the creek (and the cliffs too), we found a lot of inuksuk on the trail and my brother pushed them down! We also came to a big mountain with a hole in it! My brother wanted to climb it and go into the hole, but it was too steep to climb. We sat on some rocks for a rest and drank some water. I had more energy now! Soon, we wanted to go back, we decided that Jack's mom, dad, and Maggie still hike, while me, my brother, Jack, my mom and dad go back to where we started. So we went back... We past the trail and the creek, soon we were back! Me, my brother, and Jack played the D.S. and made funny videos! Finally the others were back! Then we had to go back home! I had a wonderful time hiking!2009-08-09
