With a slew of positive economic data released this week, plus the impending GM bankruptcy clearing away the uncertainty, US market made the breakout from the trading range today. S&P broke the upper bound of the symmetrical triangle formed in the last 3 weeks. Nasdaq broke 颈线of the W bottom formed by the trading range. DJ was a bit weaker, but still broke the upper bound of the descending triangle. The consolidation happened in the past 3 weeks should be over. Market will make a more aggressive move up. Expect Nasdaq will be the strongest among the three major indices because it has the most convincing breakout with heavy volumes.
