Agree, this is a good way...

The dentist may also try "holding care" without any anesthetics or hand pieces: just scooping out the decay and replace with the Fuji material, which releases fluoride and actually makes teeth "stronger". This way, the kid will less likely to develop dental fear later on.

With deep, multiple cavities, the "sleep" may be a better way for kids since they won't hear or remember anything. There are some risks of course, that's why the parent needs to sign the informed consent, but it's very little, especially with the presence of an anesthesiologist, honestly, it's even safter than with nitrous...
