Kingdom Principles For Successful Living
Introduction
by Dan Denton
About 15 years ago, at a time of turmoil in my personal and professional life, I began studying the Bible on the subjects of success and prosperity. What started out as my plan to do a two or three page compilation of success-in-life Scriptures for personal inspiration, ended up as God's plan for the handbook you are now reading.
By studying God's Word, I quickly discovered that the Bible is the greatest book ever written on motivation, success and prosperity. It is the original source book for discovering the keys to successful living through the power of kingdom principles. It will provide an unshakable foundation for your life, and this is why the Bible admonishes you to meditate on its words day and night (Joshua 1:8). Through its words of life and power, your heart will be opened to understanding, and you will find the success-in-life principles from God's laws of prosperity that will enable you to conquer life's problems and to lead a righteous, victorious and joyous life. These are kingdom principles, not formulas, and through His Word you will discover that the Kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21).
By studying the Scriptures, you will come to understand that the prosperity of God is multi-dimensional. It is God's will for us to prosper financially, to be in health, and for our souls to prosper (3 John 2). This is the three-part blessing of being obedient to His will and commands. God's success plan for man encompasses the prospering of the spirit, soul and body with both spiritual and material blessings. It is the natural result of living the life-style of righteousness as presented in God's Word.
We were created for success and kingdom living on earth. We were not designed to live with strife, fear, danger, poverty, sickness, hate and all the other results which go with the law of sin and death. I like how Zig Ziglar put it: "That man was created in God's own image and is designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness." The only way to tap this potential, however, is through the power of God. The power is found in His Word and is manifested through the power of the Holy Spirit working in our life through faith.
God says that He is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (Ephes. 3:20). The extent of His power at work within us depends upon the extent of our faith, which depends upon the extent of our knowledge of His Word (Rom. 10:17). Thus, it is clear that God has already done everything He needs to do for us to have a successful, victorious life. If you are waiting for him to move, stop waiting! He has already moved and is waiting for you to move. It is up to you to lay hold to His truths and apply them to your life. You have the power to choose life or death, success or failure, blessings or curses (Deut. 30:9, Job 22:28). You are not limited by your senses in the quality of life that God has for you. You are only limited by your choices and by your lack of knowledge; and it is from lack of knowledge that people perish (Hos. 4:6).
Your mind is the battleground for your choices and it is where battles are waged to obtain and keep success. This is where the devil will try to defeat you. But Jesus has given us power and authority over the enemy of this world (Luke 9:1, 10:19); and the spiritual weapons from God have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4). But again, we cannot know of these weapons or their power, without knowing the Word of God.
After discovering the truths of God's wisdom and power, you must then step out in faith and apply the kingdom principles to your life. You will prosper only in proportion to your application of the truth and wisdom of God in your life; for faith, without action, is dead (James 2:17).
Use this Scripture handbook as a guide to God's laws of prosperity and you will learn that God has a highly organized system to meet all the needs of your life, but that His system works exactly opposite from the world's system. For example:

By studying God's system for man's prosperity, versus the world's system, you will also learn that you cannot obtain God's prosperity by selecting and applying only a few of His kingdom principles. You must first seek, know, love and obey God, and earnestly seek to apply the whole Gospel to your life. Get your priorities in order and learn that by seeking first God's kingdom and His righteousness, all the earthly things will be given to you as well (Matt. 6:32).
Near the time that I completed this Bible study, my God worked tremendous miracles in my life, and my business, finances and home life completely turned around for the better--far more than I could even imagine was possible under the circumstances. I now know and believe that all things are possible with God, and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Mark 10:27, Phil. 4:13). And what God did for me, He will do for you.
Study these Scriptures and kingdom principles continually and get them into your heart, and learn as I did that God's Word is a spiritual motivation to the human spirit and will lead you to a positive and successful life--spiritually, physically, financially and socially. Don't settle for mediocrity; learn to soar as if wings of eagles (Is. 40:31).
