Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe extends his property portfolio by buying a town house in New York worth nearly £4 million.

The 20-year-old actor has spent £3.76 million on a five bedrooms, 3,000sq ft  building on West 12th Street meaning he now owns a £10 million property empire in the Big Apple as well as a flat in Fulham, west London.

Radcliffe's first New York purchase was two years ago – a £3.2 million fifth-floor apartment in the SoHo district. A few months later, he paying just over £3 million for a three-bedroom apartment with views across the Hudson River.

Together with his Harry Potter co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, Coutts bank has personally tutored Ratcliffe so when he turned 18 he would have a better idea of how best to invest his earnings.

Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film, has his own collection of homes in Hertfordshire estimated to be worth £10 million which he has recently added a fourth property to.

Emma Watson recently bought a North London town house for £3 million and is thought to own a £1 million ski chalet in a French resort.
