Curious about mom's readings, Bearsy decided to read some of the books I just finished. I recommended Country Driving and River Town for him to start with as these two are also appropriate in its language use and content.
He was quickly absorbed and would even spend his precious weekend DS time on the books. By now he has finished Country Driving and is almost half way through River Town. He dubbed the bed time reading as the Book Club and would occassionally invited me and his sister to join. I must admit that it was quite fun reading among the pillows and blankets with the kids.
Best of all, reading the good books on China has inspired Bearsy to study Chinese language with renewed interest. Now he is very committed to his weekly Chinese session taught by his mom and would even go through the materials on his own without being prompted. He would ask questions on Chinese society and history and ready to jump into discussions with me....
What a benefit! A good example for his sister too. Haha!
