69. Pressured to Bike

While growing up, biking was the primary means of transportation for my family, which was affordable and convenient. Little would I expect that, years later in another country where cars are predominant, I will pick up biking again, this time under some pressure. It turned out that May is the bike-to-work month here and there is a competition set up among the companies. With colleagues enthusiastically forming teams and cheerfully encouraging one another to bike more, it is pretty hard to stay out of it. My goal is to log one hundred miles by the end of May and so far I have only biked thirty four miles. With less than two weeks remaining, I guess I have to pedal more!
