Northeast
Regional Video
A wet, windy storm will bluster through the Northeast Monday.
Early in the day, the precipitation will be mainly locally heavy rain (expect an arduous morning commute in the Megalopolis), although sleet and snow will be the sunrise greeters in northern New Hampshire and Maine. The wintry mix there will gradually change over to freezing rain and rain, but snow and sleet could hang on in far northern Maine with several inches of accumulation possible.
Meanwhile, as cold air piles in on the back side of the storm, snow showers could make an appearance during the afternoon from northern and western New York southward to the West Virginia mountains.
High temperatures are forecast to range from the 30s in northern and western sections of the region to the 60s in far southeast Virginia. The big cities from Boston to Washington will top out in the 50s.
Midwest

A fast-moving low will gallop southeastward into Upper Midwest Monday, laying down a swath of light snow--one or two inches at most--from North Dakota into, by evening, northern Illinois.
Farther east, a few morning snow showers from Michigan into the upper Ohio Valley should give way to dry conditions in the afternoon as a weak ridge of high pressure barges in.
Winds will be quite strong across much of the region, especially on the Great Plains where some gusts may reach 60 mph.
High temperatures, meanwhile, will range from the 20s in North Dakota, northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and the U. P. of Michigan to the 50s in eastern Kansas and southern Missouri.
West

Yet another storm barreling toward British Columbia from the Pacific will hurl more rain and mountain snow into Washington and northern Oregon Monday.
Scattered rain and snow showers will extend eastward into western Montana and western Wyoming.
Farther south, Santa Ana winds will again whip Southern California, especially in the morning, while strong winds off the Rockies hammer eastern Colorado.
High temperatures are expected to range from the 20s in parts of the Rockies to the 70s in Southern California and southwest Arizona. The Central Valley of California will enjoy highs in the 60s.
South

Except for a few showers or thundershowers lingering over the Florida Peninsula, similar precipitation will have departed the Southeast by early afternoon Monday.
Sunshine is expected to prevail from Georgia westward into Texas and Oklahoma.
Winds will be gusty across much of the region with high temperatures ranging from the 40s in Tennessee and immediately adjacent parts of adjoining states to the 70s and 80s on the southern Florida Peninsula.
