The larger unit works better than HEPA filtration, it removes 99.97% of particles >0.1 microns, providing powerful protection against the allergens. Recognized by USA FDA as Class II Medical device. A medical device is essentially, any item promoted for a medical purpose that does not reply on chemical action to achieve its intended effect. Class II devices require special controls, such as labeling requirements and mandatory performance standards to assure safety and effectiveness. Example includes power wheelchairs. Four-level of filtration processes:
1) An ion generator charges particles which are then attracted to and trapped by the filter for exceptional efficiency, all without emitting harmful OZONE. Ozone is an unstable molecule that will damage your lung tissues and health in general.
2 & 3) The process of photo catalytic oxidation occurs when the UV light strikes the titanium dioxide (TiO2), a special coating on the filter, and interacts with water vapor creating a powerful oxidizer which destroys airborne microbes such as mold, bacteria, viruses, and other micro-organisms.
