Daughter #2 is talking so much these days that I wish I had a 24hr voice recorder with me. #1 said "stop copying me", #2 said "I not copying me" ;) Before #2 fell asleep at night, she dreamily said "poke sister eyes, hurt mommy nose". Upon waking up in the morning, the first thing she said to me:"I not gonna talk to you, mommy". She tried to put Dora to sleep, but poor Dora didn't have eyelids that can close. She said "Dora not sleeping". I said "close your eyes, then Dora will sleep too." But she insisted on watching Dora sleep first. When she was given 2 shots at Dr.'s office, she said "it hurts" when the first one came, then "it really hurts" when the second one came, but didn't cry! She said "mommy, give me my bottle, please" yesterday. First time saying please, and I haven't even taught her yet! She's so quick to say sorry all the time, you wonder whether she means it ;) I suppose #2 is at least 50% raised by #1. The pleasure of having two girls. When I took #1 to bathroom at a restaurant, the girl's room was taken, the boy's room was empty. She asked if she could use the boy's room, I said "boy's room is yucky, because boys are yucky." She immediately said "if boys go into girls room, they'll make girls room yucky too." Then when it's her daddy's turn to go to bathroom, she said it so loudly "Daddy, remember to peepee in the boy's room" The old people at the next table were laughing! Yesterday they were climbing on the window sill again, and I couldn't stop them just that. So I said "stand at the corner". #1 started crying - probably because she didn't nap in school, #2 followed, but she couldn't cry, so she faked ;) They were hugging each other in the bathroom. I hope when real harship comes they are just as close and supportive to each other.
But what am I gonna do with the recording or transcript of our lives, share it with them when they are older? Enjoy it myself when we are older? It's always hard for me to draw the line when it's time to look forward and when to look back. One thing is for sure, it always makes me happy to look back or forward in our girls' lives.
