what a manipulated market! Once banks and gov get what they want, 散户 need to be careful.

that trick really works, thanks lord. Gov should have changed the rule of accouting long time ago? WFC wrote down 6 billions in previous quarter. Obviously, the current quarter (1st quarter of 2009 is worse than the previous one in terms of real estate). However WFC only writes down 3 billion this quarter!

Well WFC may indeed make a lot of money from refi though. those people in traditional 417k range get really good rates.

WFC typically has highest mortgage rate. If WFC makes a lot of money from writting loans, this may mean other banks may do better.

pump up bank stocks, attract capitals from investors both domestically and internationally. Mission accomplished.
