Anyone knows about Money Market Fund? Please come in.

I just read a book about Money Market Fund (MMF). Seems it is a safe way for short-term goal. The book says it is $1 per share, and the interest rate can be 1.3%, for example.

My question is if I have $10,000 in my money market account in the BANK at the rate of 3.3%,does that mean I shouldn\'t think of MMF? Thanks.
