Initiated a position in SOHU averaged at $35.92 Stop-loss if the stock drops below $27 at close
Reason: this is purely an Olympic speculation play. Being the sole Olympic Internet sponsor for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Sohu is expected to enjoy an ad boom heading into 2008. Among all Chinese Internet companies, both Sohu and Sina have the majority of their revenue generated from ad sales. Technically, Sohu performs relatively stronger than Sina recently. Risk to the stock is a crash in the domestic A share market(e.g. news about index futures being launched).
