I personally knew one Chinese ph.D. got rejected for job interview simply due to his poor table manner.

At least when your student is giving the presentation, that dress is not suitable.
Many Chinese made mistakes in dress appropriately for right events (conference, party, interview, etc), it is understandable for those students in USA in 1980s, but not acceptable today (30years later!).

克拉伊人民很厚道,每天都围着大头巾...能有人愿意去随时有炸弹的地方作学术交流...应该不那么介意不围头巾的人的着装吧...
再说这种芝麻事情指导老师怎么开口呢,很伤小女生自尊的吧?
BTW,女生的头发很飘逸,很自信...BTW,要是盖茨几天不洗澡不换衣服,应该是:纯属个人style...哈哈!

先谢报道,这样的经历太难得了,我们跟着嫂夫人长见识了。
真心附和 st-watcher 的意见, 那位随访女学生的衣着实在太不合适了,参观游玩不讲究也就算了,可作报告穿的太随便了,非常不专业。而且两天穿一样的衣服。下次请教授一定要对她有所提醒和要求才好。
