被雷了(12)我的前老板

我的前老板和我一样是数学系毕业的，却是当了A大学的计算机系的系主任，后来由于常常和某公司合作做项目，被公司聘过去成了公司的一员，几年后成立研究和发展部门(R&D group)时候，把我招了进去，这里工作还不错，研究性质的工作，不赚钱的部门所以也不是那么紧张。这期间我们也常常和A大学合作，还推荐我做了A大学计算机系的顾问(Advisory Committe Member)的一员。

后来美国的经济不景气，他被迫离开公司，不过又回到了A校在另外一个系工作。我们这几个他手下的就被换到了另外的组。后来公司重组，我又换了一个组，再后来就是九月底，我也被公司雷了。在我找工作期间，他始终都让我去他那里做博士后，虽然最后我还是没有去，人情还是要还的。上周末请他们一家吃饭，他现在的妻子是他做系主任的时候认识的，中间是他们的女儿：

我们现在都不在那个公司了，大家在一起还是谈着以前的熟人，有的还能知道在哪，有的已经失去联系了。。

I did not publish any important paper:). I have been working on computer field for last 15 years. The new job may use some of Statistics.

Are you the one who wrote an important paper on importance sampling? I referenced the paper once or twice and seemed to remeber that the author went to software industry later.

Same for me but I stayed in the same field until today and will remain so for the rest of my life, I think.

It will exit itself so give it some time. Next time you start should not see the small window. Or it failed the first setup run. Send me QQH if it failed.

丁庄秀园, I downloaded your Java Karaoke software. I unzipped the file and double clicked the karalala10.jar file. A small window popped up with the message

setup
This option will download ...... It will exit itself. See .. for more info. I choose Yes button but the program just die down.
I have rebooted my laptop and still no success. Please help. I would love to have this program work.
