kayaking & BBQ at Sunnyside Park,July 15,2012

With Romman and his family,Meng and her family,me,baby and Aaron, we brought two kayaks BBQ stuff to sunnyside park for kayaking & BBQ.

 

We took the picnic table in a pavilion in case rain then we have a shelter to cover.

 

Food on the table,A yi prepared beef cold dish and sliced potatoes cold dish which were very yummy. I also made the same beef cold dish coincidently and a cucumber cold dish, Meng brought furits and drinks, snacks etc.

 

For the BBQ food, we had The Keg burgers, corn dogs,chicken wings and spicy sausages. Aaron,Olive and Romman were the BBQ chef while enjoying small talks to each other.

 

We enjoyed the food, fruits, busy with babies, Meng took her two boys to water park nearby to play with the water,Romman's toddler loved to be in the play ground for swings.

 

The sun was high but the bleeze from the Lake made the air cool with moisture. It felt so comfortable. After eating some food, three men were busy unloading the kayaks and put them in the water. Aaron and Romman were the first group to row away down the dam to Humber river. Far away they went.

 

By the time, suddenly it came a summer storm, it rained like cats and dogs, wow, the sky became dark and the water pouring down. All the people ran into our pavilion to find the shelter from the big rain. How lucky we were to choose undter the roof from the beginning.

 

Now there were at least three big BBQ groups in the pavilion, it looked the others two families were from Indian or Pakistan. They were friendly people and offered us the grilled chicken legs with the red sauce and there were very yummy.

 

We shared the pavilion from the rain, Aaron and Romman called to check and told us they were hiding under the bridge for the rain. And they had fun kayaking.

 

It rained about for almost one hour, then sun came out again, people resumed their activities, BBQing, or playing, or talking, or kayaking. What a beautiful summer ,relaxing day.

 

Aaron and Romman came back, everyone took turn to have a try.Even Meng's older son rode with daddy for his first kayaking.

 

I fed baby with milk and she slept for a while. She was a sweet baby.

 

In the late afternoon, we packed everything and wrapped up the day. We promise going to berry picking and picnic/BBQ next Sunday. It will be Meng and Olive to prepare the BBQ food next time.

 

Hurray, lots of BBQ this summer. Lots of fun!
