Read the post below and would like to share what my son's first grade teacher wrote on his report card.
1st semester:W brings to our class a wealth of information he has accumulated through travel and reading. He has wonderful reading comprehension, and reads aloud as an adult. W also has very strong math skills. he needs to work on his social skills, however, particularly in waiting for his turn to talk. STATS: Sight Words 16. Spelling Tests: 99%/83% Math Tests: 97% Instructional Reading Level: 30
2nd semester: W has exceptional talents. He is an accomplished, voracious reader, and he also excels in math. His social skills have improved, but he still needs to work on waiting his turn. Spelling Tests:100+% Math Tests:98% District Exams: Language Arts 100%,Advanced Math:92%, Advanced
Sight Word List 19 Instructional Reading Level 30+ BRI 5th grade
3rd semester: W went to China and was on RISE the last 6 weeks of school. While gone, he worked on 2nd grade math, and continued with advanced reading and writing activities. W is an extremely capable studnet. With better self-control, he could become a model student. He is a bright, enthusiastic child with multiple talents. Intstructional Reading Level: 30+
His teacher is a very responsible and fair teacher. She always keeps him challenged instead of giving him easy word like another class he attended before in another school. However, she will be teaching Biology in our high school this fall so my daughter won't be able to have her as her 1st grade teacher and that is really disappointing.
