就老两口在家里冻死谈谈美国的亲情

Poor elderly(65+) are well protected in US. In addition to SSI and
Medicaid, there are housing, energy, transportation, telephone,...
and other assistances.

All one needs to do is a call to SSA, and they will send a social
worker who speaks your language to your house to set all up. The
worker/volunteer will have regular follow-up visits to make sure everything
is OK.

The case reported below sounds very strange to me.

Pls also remember that the utility company doesn't have the info
of their costumer's age, nor costumer's financial capability.

Those who are eager to criticize 美国的亲情/safety network, pls
check the facts first; and tell me what old poor people get in China.
