I have almost got fined for asset protection permit

Gee, the demolisher called on 3rd Aug 2007, that I need obtain the asset protection permit by the end of that day. Otherwise I would get a $2,000 fine. What is that for?

Well, city council requires every household who is going to demolish its house ot obtain this permit before any job starts. The permit itself is $150 plus $1,800 bond. Once the building has finished, they will send inspector to check whether we have damaged any tree. If not, the bond will be refund.

I was not aware of this permit and the demolishing guy had knocked up the house already. Luckly, they gave us this warning, so I could go to the councile and paid the fees. Fine? I did not get it, but that was scary!!!
