From Movie of  【Pearl Harbor】

when i think back on these times,
and the dreams we left behind
i'll be glad cause i was blessed to get,
to have you in my life
when i look back on these days,
i'll look and see your face
you're right there for me

in my dreams i'll always see you soar above the sky
in my heart there'll always be a place for you, for all my life

i'll keep a part of you with me,
and everywhere i am there you'll be
and everywhere i am there you'll be
well, you showed me how it feels,
to feel the sky within my reach
and i always will remember all,
the strength you gave to me

your love made me make it through, oh, i owe so much to you
you were right there for me

in my dreams i'll always see you soar above the sky
in my heart there'll always be a place for you, for all my life
i'll keep a part of you with me,
and everywhere i am there you'll be
cause i always saw in you my life, my strength
and i wanna thank you now for all the ways,
you were right there for me
you were right there for me, oh, yeah

in my dreams i'll always see you soar above the skies
in my heart there'll always be a place for you, for all my life

i'll keep a part of you with me,
and everywhere i am there you'll be
and everywhere i am there you'll be
there you'll be

'Pearl Harbor' goes for drama in two pleasing arenas: Sentimental Pre-war romance and special-effects extravaganza...

Ben Affleck, extremely flamboyant with his good looks and boyish charm, is the fighter pilot Rafe McCawley so sure of himself, whose aspirations outweigh his romantic charisma...

Josh Hartnett, a real charmer, believable and charismatic, gives a great performance as the shy, unsure, sensitive Danny who deals with extraordinary circumstances...

The glamorous and likable Kate Beckinsale is simply radiant, quite striking as Evelyn... She is a woman to watch... There is that look in her eyes that you can possibly understand what made Rafe try so hard to get to know her... She brings warmth, and intelligent sweetness to her character... She is quietly at a loss, holding back her tears, when she finds out she must choose between the two men she loves...

Jon Voight is very credible as the wheelchair-bound President Franklin Delano Roosevelt... He inhabits his role splendidly, especially when he delivers inspiration to his discouraged generals by hoisting himself to his feet from his wheelchair, showing genuine emotion...

Cuba Gooding Jr. gives a restrained performance as a person of some historical significance, Doris "Dorie" Miller, the boxing cook aboard the U.S.S. Arizona turned hero while hell rages around him...

The film opens in 1923 and shows farm boys Rafe and Danny as close friends in Tennessee, who share a passion for flying... They join the United States Army Air Corps in 1941 and both show an ability at being daring pilots while training under the command of Jimmy Doolittle, in Long Island...

Their life is changed when they encounter an attractive beautiful naval nurse called Evelyn Johnson...

Rafe and Evelyn meet in a sufficiently cute manner, where she keeps injecting him with hypodermic needles while he keeps trying to win a date with her... After few glorious weeks together, they are hopelessly in love...

Rafe, who lives for flying, volunteers for England's crack Eagle Squadron to fight the Nazis in the air... He continues his love affair by letters with Evelyn who ends up with Danny in Hawaii – Pearl Harbor, where the US Pacific fleet is gathered at rest... News comes back that he was shot down over the English Channel, and assumed dead..

Stricken with grief, Evelyn eventually finds relief in the arms of Danny... They go too far, too soon, leading to exactly what you would expect...

When Rafe turns up in Pearl Harbor alive, the clock was ticking the winds of war... Rafe was enraged that his lousy closest friend would make a pass at the girl of his dreams... Evelyn is torn over which man she loves more...

Frustrated that her memory kept him alive and now she is his best friend's girlfriend, Rafe demands an explanation, and Evelyn then admits that she is carrying Danny's child...

The high drama between the three is interrupted when, the next day, the Japanese Air Force launch their assault on Pearl Harbor, providing the viewer with very exciting action...

The attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet does bring history to life... It plunges viewers into mass destruction, devastation and disorientation... The images are remarkable: Japanese bombers, torpedo bombers, and fighters knocking out half of the entire United States Navy... The surprise was total: Soldiers were taking their Sunday ease outside their billets, and sailors were sauntering along the decks of their moored vessels...

The great shots, from the enemy pilots' perspective, arrange to evoke the ferocity of the attack... The camera follows a bomb as it falls through the sky and hits a battleship... The special effects are awesome, fabulously integrated with the live shots to create convincing battle scenes...

Bay's cameras move sometimes fast, and sometimes in slow motion to show the chaos and the agony of those terrible moments...

Scenes, out of focus, to evoke the sense of disorientation and fear, also of bravery in the midst of chaos in the island's base hospital... A wounded American soldier screaming at a Hawaiian doctor who tries to help him: 'Get this Jap away from me!'

Scary shots of Japanese bombers flying in a world of their own, in an orange sunrise, high above the white, pink and gray clouds... Sight of hundreds of Japanese planes approaching towards their unsuspecting targets, coming in formation, against the backdrop of Oahu's lush mountains, as one housewife hang her clothes on the lines, and children play baseball...

Stunning shots of Evelyn sitting atop a rock, reading Rafe's love-letters, totally unaware to the striking Hawaiian surf that threatens to pull her out to sea... Kate Beckinsale, captured with several extreme close-ups, looking absolutely great as the 1940's American pinup beauty... Schwartzman gets some extremely nice-looking scenes of the Hawaiian twilight...

'Pearl Harbor' is a fight between love and glory against a backdrop of America's entry into the war... The triangular romance lacks the heat and stirring passion of a classic love story... Randall Wallace succeeds in depicting a friendship that never eclipses, but fails to register the emotional impact of war on his characters...

Historically, 'Pearl Harbor' is sustained by a huge theme: Innocence lost... That same innocence permits Rafe, when he shows up, to discover that his best pal and his fiancée have fallen in love...

Visually, 'Pearl Harbor' is very handsome... It has all the ingredients that a great movie needs, and still, somehow, the pieces don't fuse together in the most fortunate way...
