There is no interests on first 10K in IB broker

It is called interests trap or sting in IB

I've got $10k sting in my account.  There is no interests on first 10K in IB broker.

How to avoid the sting.  People suggest EFP

10K is unpaid interest like $400 a year

you need to make 10 trades each month otherwise you paid extra for commisson since $10 monthly fee is
not waived or use for trade for free.

What about forgetting about 10K interest sting and think to make it back in other way.
the alternative way is increasing your trades.  400/9 = 45 trades / year

Spot Fx trading    you pay aroud 2% on interest for position and hedge your base currency postion
You lose money on currency change.  For example, use U$ to invest then change to CND$ on exchange

You plan $20K in near future to convert U$ to CND$.  CND is strong in near future.  so you sell U$ or 
U$/CND$ on Spot Fx trading when you invest by U$.  When you out invest, you already have CND$
to hedge the loss when you want to change to CND$.  It is all about timing.  Time has money value.
It is easy to see in option trading.  It is also see in FX and interest earning. /
