Class of Admission 该填什么？

在 AP (I-131) 中，有一问＂Class of Admission＂ (Part 1 Q-3)。

关于 Class of Admission 该填什么，是入境时的身份，还是目前的身份（especially when you changed status in the states），老师说：＂是入境时的身份＂（指最近一次）。理由如下：

1) 如果是目前的身份，移民局问的很清楚，是 "Current USCIS Status" (I-485 Part 1 Last Line)。

2) 从词义上看，Admission 有＂入＂的意思，如＂新生入学＂、＂电影入场＂等等，用的就是 "Admission"。理解成＂入境＂，是不会有问题的。

3) 老师在 AP (I-131) 的 instruction 中，找到这么一句话 "Reentry Permit - A reentry permit allows a permanent resident or conditional resident to apply for admission to the United States upon return from abroad during the permit's validity, without having to obtain a returning resident visa from a U.S. embassy or consulate." (I-131, P2 of 10, left column, first dot)。从上下文 (return from abroad) 看，是指＂入境＂。

4) 另外，老师在 USCIS 网上 search "Class of Admission"，返回的结果有"Agricultural Worker - As a nonimmigrant class of admission, an alien coming temporarily to the United States to perform agricultural labor or services, as defined by the Secretary of Labor." 从上下文 (coming) 看，也是指＂入境＂。

5) 怕又被 gc2020 揪住小辫子，老师又到 DOS 去 search "Class of Admission"。这一下，结果太多了，如果英文不是太烂的话，老师看的都是指＂入境＂。如："The DHS officer can deny admission to the US to that individual based on the..."。

6) 巧了，DOS 居然还有 Admission 的解释："Admission: Entry into the United States is authorized by a Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer." (见 Glossary of Visa Terms)


老师之所以做这么多的 homework，不是闲来无聊，而是因为有个网站一口咬定 "...what the USCIS means by the term "Class of Admission" on the new Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. The USCIS has confirmed that they are seeking the applicant's current immigration status. " 不知道为什么没把 USCIS 的 confirmation 直接贴出来，那样的话老师也不用下功夫来磨嘴皮子了。

除非有 USCIS 的其它资料，老师不认为上面的说法准确、可信。并鄙视那些扯虎皮拉大旗的行为。

提问：我于 10/1/98 以 F2 身份来美探老公，次年转成 F1 读书。使用了 OPT/EAD，并成功的转成了 H1 (10/1/2001) 还延了一次（valid through 9/30/2007）。现在已经递交了申请转 H4，有收据还在等结果。我没有离过境。

Class of Admission 该填什么？

"Class of Admission Defined by USCIS

We have recently had a number of clients ask us what the USCIS means by the term "Class of Admission" on the new Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. The USCIS has confirmed that they are seeking the applicant's current immigration status. They are not looking for the status at first or most recent entry to the U.S., if different from the current status. For example, if a person entered the U.S. through a Port of Entry and was granted F-1 status, but later changed his or her status to H1B from within the U.S., the correct answer on the form for Class of Admission is H1B. It is unclear why the USCIS decided to change the phrasing of this question. We appreciate that they have clarified the definition so that we are better able to assist our readers and clients in providing accurate information to the USCIS."

同意老师的理解。但是有一点还需要请教：
是第一次入境（admission）的class，还是最近一次入境的class？

例如：我最初是1999年以H1B来美国，拿到绿卡后又有过出入境。如果应该填第一次入境时的状态，就是H1B；如果填最近一次入境的状态，就是Permanent Resident.

个人理解是应该填最近一次入境的状态。请老师指点！多谢！
