女儿已经跑在了我们的前面，Relay For Life®24小时的筹款长跑
在这个世界上还有什么能比生命更宝贵？“为生命而接力长跑”是美国癌症协会(American Cancer Society)号召的全美为癌症患者筹款的运动。
我的十五岁的女儿早就报名参加了这个慈善活动。她和几位高中同学一起组织了一个小组，叫做“什锦巧克力组”(Assorted Chocolates Team)，专门策划并参与Relay For Life□活动。前天晚上，我帮助做了两个香蕉面包，加上其他几家妈妈做的自制烘培食品，“什锦巧克力组”的成员们昨天放学后，站在沃尔玛商店门前义卖，几个小时之后，她们就筹集了善款900多美元。
作为我们沿海地区的一个活动，所有的志愿者将参加本周六到周日的连续4小时的筹款长跑，地点是在镇里的集会中心Fair Ground。我不擅长长跑，也从来不是一个好的长跑队员，但是，我也报名去参加“为生命而接力长跑”的活动，但愿能够跑下一个Mile，然后，给女孩子们搭个帐篷，放上睡袋，好让她们在夜里跑累了能够休息一会儿，再接着跑，一直跑到星期天早晨七点钟。做父母的应该支持自己的孩子参与这样的慈善活动，这对孩子们的心理成长与社会责任感，组织能力都会有益处，不过同时，也真的心疼她们这些孩子们。据说，本周末是阴雨天(Showers)，不知活动是否是风雨无阻？也不知能吸引多少人来慷慨解囊？
但是，无论如何，重在参与，贵在爱心！

This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words "You have cancer," and there's a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love. We have all been touched by cancer in some way ... and we all have the power to make a difference. That's why I have chosen to fight back right here in my own community by participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life®.
I want to invite you to join me in the fight against cancer by making a donation in support of my efforts. Your donation helps improve the lives of cancer patients through support services such as free wigs, rides to treatment, and summer camp for children with cancer. Relay For Life® brings more than 3.5 million people from across the country together each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.
