2008年四月份，享誉全球的流行歌后席琳迪翁在中国演出，接受了杨澜的采访，并为观众现场演唱她的几首著名歌曲，其中一首就是震撼人心的奥运会歌曲《梦想的力量》。

《梦想的力量》出自当时全球流行音乐界最出色的音乐制作人之一大卫•福斯特。大卫是席琳迪翁的制作人，他很清楚席琳迪翁高亢、激昂的嗓音正适合演唱像奥运会这样题材的歌曲，于是他为席琳迪翁量身定做了这首歌曲。歌曲告诉人们，只要敢去想，那就是成功的开始。而席琳迪翁凭着她完美的演唱技巧和自身魅力，打破了以往奥运会开、闭幕式歌曲均为合唱的形式，由此，席琳迪翁成为了奥运史上第一位独自演唱闭幕歌曲的歌手。
