在普契尼歌剧《波西米亚人》第一幕中,当邻居咪咪过来向诗人鲁道夫借火时,鲁道夫故意吹灭了蜡烛,咪咪的钥匙掉在地上,鲁道夫也连忙蹲下身子帮咪咪在地上寻找钥匙, 这时候,鲁道夫碰到了咪咪的小手, 于是鲁道夫就唱起了那段动情的咏叹调《冰凉的小手》,自我介绍并向咪咪倾吐爱慕之情,还询问咪咪的名字和身世,于是含羞的咪咪轻轻地唱起了咏叹调《人们叫我咪咪》(那是我最喜欢的一首甜美抒情的咏叹调, 每次都是越唱越激动,但最后意识到自己太激动了,又收回来, 轻柔含蓄地小声唱出结尾句式)，告诉鲁道夫她的本名叫露琪娅，可是人们都叫我咪咪，我只是一个绣花女，每天与绣的玫瑰百合花为伴，她们没有芬芳，却溶入了我心中的爱情与故事，我住在楼顶层白色的小屋里，春天第一抹阳光是属于我的。。。
咪咪说完之后，诗人鲁道夫的朋友在外面叫他一起去餐馆，这时候鲁道夫舍不得离开咪咪, 咪咪就娇羞地建议和他一同前往，俩个人已经一见钟情，这时很快地陷入情网, 深情地唱起了这段著名的二重唱"哦，温柔的女人"("O Soave Fanciulla" -- Oh Sweet Little Lady )， 俩人相拥着一起唱出最后一句“Amor! Amor! Amor!!"（爱情! 爱情! 爱情!）以高音C结尾，掀起了一次高潮。。。
