Strangle your hold
Don't let me go
Until I want what you want
Pray for the strength
(To) keep it in place
Promise to God you won't
I've got faith in you to lose yours in me
Like you say though before you go
"I should probably be letting you go"
Acting the part
Never that hard
Memorize the lines on your face now
I've got faith in you to lose all of mine
Like you say though before you go
"I should probably be letting you go"
We know things always happen for no reason at all
You say though before you go
"I should probably be letting you go"
I've got faith in you to lose yours in me
You say though before you go
"I should probably be letting you go"
Well, I should probably be letting you go

Buddy (last name Humberston) grew up in Portland, Oregon, developing an interest in music by the age of 10, and forming his first band by the age of 16.
He left Portland to study English at Providence College in Rhode Island, after which he moved to Austin, Texas where he began again to focus on music. Buddy joined local band Piltdowns, supporting bands such as Spoon, and gaining interest from local record labels.
In 2002, Buddy relocated to Los Angeles, California, continued writing his own songs, and performed his first solo show at the Hotel Café in July 2004. He also played at one of his friend Greg Behrendt's "Bring the Rock" nights at Largo, where he met musician and producer Robbie Rist. Together they produced and recorded Buddy's first EP, self-titled, which was self-released in November 2004.
Local KCRW DJ Tricia Halloran began playing "Salt Point" from the EP and a radio station in Denver picked up on the cover of Kelis's "Milkshake", which helped to boost popularity. Buddy was offered deals with UK record labels, but he chose not to sign and instead continued promoting his material and playing live shows.
Buddy's music has been featured in ABC's Grey's Anatomy,The CW shows: One Tree Hill, Smallville, and CBS's Ghost Whisperer. In July 2007 Buddy was featured by Apple iTunes music store's Indie Spotlight and CMJ's Band Spotlight. In October 2007, Buddy played at Carnegie Hall with Aimee Mann and Howard Jones amongst others for a tribute to the songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin
