Who made the request to sit beside
Jesus in His kingdom?
Matthew 20:20-21 and Mark 10:35-37
(Matthew 20:20-21) - "Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Him with her sons, bowing down, and making a request of Him. 21And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She *said to Him, "Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left."
(Mark 10:35-37) - "And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire. 36And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? 37They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory."
Both are correct. Most probably, the mother first approached Jesus and asked Him about her sons. Later, they approached Jesus with the same question. Neither statement excludes the possibility of the other.
