Cleansing of the Temple

Event	Matthew 21:1-22	Mark 11:1-18	Luke 19:28-38,44-48
They came to Jerusalem	1 And when they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,	1 And as they *approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He *sent two of His disciples,	28 And after He had said these things, He was going on ahead, ascending to Jerusalem.
Retrieving the colt	2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them, and bring them to Me.  3 "And if anyone says something to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them."  4 Now this took place that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, 5 "Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold your King is coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’" 6 And the disciples went and did just as Jesus had directed them,	2 and *said to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. 3 "And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ you say, ‘The Lord has need of it’; and immediately he will send it back here." 4 And they went away and found a colt tied at the door outside in the street; and they *untied it. 5 And some of the bystanders were saying to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?" 6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had told them, and they gave them permission.	29 And it came about that when He approached Bethphage and Bethany, near the mount that is called Olivet, He sent two of the disciples,  30 saying, "Go into the village opposite you, in which as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it, and bring it here.  31 "And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ thus shall you speak, ‘The Lord has need of it.’"  32 And those who were sent went away and found it just as He had told them.  33 And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?"  34 And they said, "The Lord has need of it."
garments on colt	7 and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid on them their garments, on which He sat.	7 And they *brought the colt to Jesus and put their garments on it; and He sat upon it.	35 And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their garments on the colt, and put Jesus on it.
garments on ground	8 And most of the multitude spread their garments in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees, and spreading them in the road.	8 And many spread their garments in the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields.	36 And as He was going, they were spreading their garments in the road
Hosanna!	9 And the multitudes going before Him, and those who followed after were crying out, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!"	9 And those who went before, and those who followed after, were crying out, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;  10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David; Hosanna in the highest!"	37 And as He was now approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,  38 saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"
entered Jerusalem	10 And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?"  11 And the multitudes were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee."	11 And He entered Jerusalem and came into the temple; and after looking all around, He departed for Bethany with the twelve, since it was already late.
Jesus cleanses the  Temple	12 And Jesus entered the temple and cast out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who were selling doves.		45 And He entered the temple and began to cast out those who were selling,
Jesus speaks to the people	13 And He *said to them, "It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer’; but you are making it a robbers‘ den."  14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.  15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they became indignant,  16 and said to Him, "Do You hear what these are saying?" And Jesus *said to them, "Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babes Thou hast prepared praise for Thyself’?"		46 saying to them, "It is written, ‘And My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a robbers‘ den." 47 And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,  48 and they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging upon His words.
leaves city	17 And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.
Jesus curses the fig tree	18 Now in the morning, when He returned to the city, He became hungry. 19 And seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it, and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He *said to it, "No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you." And at once the fig tree withered.  20 And seeing this, the disciples marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither at once?" 21 And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith, and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it shall happen.  22 "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."	12 And on the next day, when they had departed from Bethany, He became hungry.  13 And seeing at a distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if perhaps He would find anything on it; and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.  14 And He answered and said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again!" And His disciples were listening.
Jesus cleanses the Temple		15 And they *came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to cast out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who were selling doves;  16 and He would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple.  17 And He began to teach and say to them, "Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a robbers‘ den."   18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard this, and began seeking how to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, for all the multitude was astonished at His teaching.
