下面我们继续学习创世纪第八章。
现在我们继续讨论创世纪第八章的内容。
本节经文包括了神的两个行为：一个是记忆起方舟里的生命；一个是兴风吹地。根据NASB, 这是圣经第一次用记忆这个词来联系神和他创造的生命。记忆在这里的重大意义是什么呢？这意味着神从来不会忘记他的圣约责任。神的计划并不是把诺亚一家和其它动物放在方舟里就不管了。惩罚完成以后，神的拯救将继续。
因此，神记忆起方舟里的生命，开始了灾后的拯救行动。神的第一个拯救行动就是“兴风吹地”。其效果是水势消退。
持守之约的第十七点：神结束惩罚开始灾后拯救。
神的灾后拯救行动继续开展。包括关闭深渊的喷泉，高天的水门，以及控制天空的降雨。这里要注意的是，从中文圣经看，这些只是结果，并不清楚，也不必注意是谁促成的这些结果。在英文圣经中用的是被动式结构，使读者很自然地联想到这些结果的促成者。结合上文的“神兴风吹地”的第一个行动，我们很容易得出神是关门止雨这些行动的主角。
持守之约的第十八点：神切断了洪水的根源。
神解决了洪水在地球表面的残留。诺亚见证了神令洪水来又令洪水退去的过程。神完成了这个过程，就为诺亚一家和方舟内的其它生命重返地面做好了准备。这些准备是神一力承担的。
持守之约的第十九点：神解决了洪水问题。
神令诺亚和他的家人以及其它生命从方舟里出来，以便他们在能自地球之上繁衍生息。这后半句的命令和神在创世之后给亚当夏娃的命令一样，只是这次扩大到一切有生之物。从开始神命令诺亚进方舟，到现在为止，神和亚诺为代表的人类的圣约有了一个从开始到结束的过程。
持守之约的第二十点：神要求诺亚从方舟出来。
遵照神的命令，诺亚一家和方舟内的其它生命从方舟里出来。各从其类，很有秩序。而不是你争我抢，蜂拥而出。
持守之约的第二十一点：诺亚遵从神的命令走出方舟。
这节有两个重点。第一是筑祭坛。根据NASB版本圣经，诺亚的这个建筑祭坛是圣经记载的人类史上第一次，在以色列历史上地位可谓十分重要。第二是献祭。用的是各种洁净的飞鸟和牲畜。这就把前面为什么洁净的飞禽走兽要每样七对的原因解释清楚了。
此外，诺亚的筑坛献祭行为在前面并没有明确地约文要求，是否应该算作持守之约的内容？
我认为应该算。理由有二：第一，诺亚的献祭是前面准备的物质条件的结果。第二，诺亚的献祭可能是他唯一能够表达对神感谢的方式。大家可能都清楚古时的献祭，相当于我们现在的对神祷告。诺亚就是用这种方式表示他对神的拯救的感激的。
持守之约的第二十二点：诺亚筑坛献祭。
神闻到了诺亚献祭的馨香，也就是垂听了他的祷告，就打定主意，从此不再因人的缘故诅咒地，也不再用同样的方法灭绝生命了。
这里我们可以看出祷告的功效。但又不仅仅是祷告。首先诺亚是个义人。所以这是义人的祷告蒙神垂听。但是最终取决于神。因为义人，祷告，和决意都是神促成和做出的。
持守之约的第二十三点：神垂听诺亚的祈祷决定留存地球。
这是持守之约第二十三的继续和具体化。只有地球得以保持下来，与其相关的万物和秩序才能得以保存。
持守之约的第二十四点：神立意持守地球的秩序。
现在我们做一下总结。到本章结束，持守之约的完成情况如下：
