写给女儿16岁生日

 

Dear Angela:

 

I can’t believe how time flies. You are 16 years old today. Happy sweet 16th Birthday Angela !
 

I don’t have to rewind my memory since it’s just like yesterday that I held you in my arms with excitement to welcome you to this wonderful world. You have brought lots and lots of joy and happiness to this family ever since.

Angela, You were such an energetic/naughty and yet happy baby who grew so fast that in just a few years you transformed from a tiny little creature to a lovely cute little girl. 

I’d never imagine today you are taller than mommy! 
 

Sixteen is a sweet number indeed. That means, you are no longer a little girl, but a young lady who has responsibilities and goals of life. Your life is no longer all about fairy tales and princesses. You’ve seen the real world and you’ve had a glimpse of the adulthood which is not all rosy sometimes. However, I am sure in a few more years you will understand, as long as you work hard towards your goal and take the courage to solve the problems while they occur, you will always enjoy your life and life will treat you equally well. 
 

Angela, you are diligent and intelligent, and you make progresses whenever you put your heart and soul into your work. I see your potentials while I work along with you for your math work, let alone your superb piano talent that we are all proud of. Work harder and you have a great future ahead of you!
 

In a few more weeks, you will be able to acquire your driver’s license. This is another big milestone in your life. Being able to drive not only gives you freedom but also makes you independent. At the same time, however, it requires that you be a responsible and safe driver. And driving a car is much like living in the real world: you have to stay focused, learn how to deal with other people, make critical decisions and always stay on the right track. Your destination---happiness and joy.
