The National Development and Reform Commission says that China hopes to have the proportion of renewable energy consumed up to
10% of the national total by 2010.To do so, China says it will grant subsidies to bioenergy producing companies whenever international crude oil prices fall below the oil alternative's production costs and stays there for an extended period.
Bioenergy refers to ethanol, biochemical diesel and other products made from plants that can be used to power engines.
